Who Needs Child AED Pads?

These pads are designed with distinctive pink and yellow diagrams and child-specific illustrations, so they won’t be mistaken for adult pads in an emergency. The image on each pad demonstrates the proper pad placement on children, which differs significantly from where you would place them on an adult.

How to Use 11101-000016 Child AED Pads

Keep these pads stored in your AED case for an emergency. In the event that a child in your care does go into cardiac arrest, simply retrieve the child pads and disconnect the standard adult pads from the AED. Insert the pink connector into the corresponding slot on the LIFEPAK AED (usually located on the upper-left corner above the display), and look for the positive indicator on the LCD screen to confirm a successful connection.

From there, simply remove the packaging from the pads and place them on the victim’s bare skin according to the diagrams—one on the center of the chest, and the other on the center of the back. Follow the AED’s voice instructions for CPR as the device assesses the patient’s heart rhythm. If instructed to administer a shock, press the shock button on the AED.
